Salt is a mother of 16, grandmother of 18 and great-grandmother of four. During the hot summer months, she enjoys her life in the Gulf of Maine, in the United States. She spends the winter in the stunning Caribbean. Both Salt and her daughter Sanchal have returned from their winter holiday, in the Caribbean, with a newborn baby! Most humpback whales are not named until they are a couple of years old. The only exception is Salt&#039;s babies. These are named after spices or variations of salt, and baby No. 16 is no exception: she was named after the Japanese spice paste &quot;miso&quot;.

Humans have brought many whale species to the brink of extinction through industrial whaling, especially from the 19th century onwards. In a unique step in the history of species protection, the whaling moratorium came into force in 1986, banning commercial whaling.

Only if the local population has sufficient expertise can they sustainably protect Africa&#039;s unique nature and wildlife. This is exactly the knowledge that students acquire in the courses and campaigns offered by the Southern African Wildlife College in Kruger National Park. For example, on topics such as poaching, managing wildlife conflicts and natural resource management.The demand is great. More and more young Africans want to learn about these important issues and get involved. Many, however, lack the money for education. In order to make it possible for them, external support is needed. This is what Friends of African Wildlife is committed to!

The non-profit organization 'Friends of African Wildlife' was founded in 2013 and is based in Zurich. Its primary goal is to provide aid for self-help in Southern Africa.

KYMA sea conservation &amp; research brings together innovative people from different disciplines such as science, media, ethics and communication who work together to protect the ecology of the seas. KYMA is also a think tank to advance the huge challenge of marine conservation in the 21st century through creative and concrete means. This includes projects and informing the public. KYMA also invites interested individuals to contribute their bright ideas for projects or theses and offers support to take them forward.

KYMA shows ecological connections and networks and communicates consumption and value attitudes in order to deeply anchor the protection of the oceans on land.

<h3>ALL FOR WATER</h3>Viva con Agua activates and inspires people in joyful ways to engage for clean water and raises awareness for this precious resource – both in Switzerland and in the project countries. The foundation for fundraising activities and awareness-raising work both at home and abroad is based on the universal languages of music, art, and sports.Our young network collects donations for clean drinking water at charity runs, art and music festivals, and creatively implements its own fundraising ideas.In the corporate world and gastronomy sector, there are various partnership models, ranging from the integration of sustainable water and hygiene products, membership in the innovative Social Business Club, to participation in sports and cultural events through corporate volunteering or sponsorship.<h3>WATER FOR ALL</h3>We promote projects in various countries using the comprehensive WASH approach. WASH stands for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene. Our big goal: access to clean water for all people on this planet. In doing so, we aim to make an important contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal No. 6: ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Worldwide, 703 million people live without secure access to clean drinking water. Of these, around 411 million people get their drinking water directly from a river or lake. 1.54 billion people lack access to basic sanitation.
